SuperyachtDesign week 2015 kicked off with a fantastic start on Tuesday at the Chelsea Harbour Design Centre.

Day one focussed on one of our favourite topics – Smart Engineering. The programme offered an impressive line-up, featuring a keynote from David Nelson of Foster + Partners, and an afternoon ‘insight’ keynote with S/Y Sybaris owner Bill Duker and his design team. There were also a whole host of interesting workshops hosted by some of the most renowned designers, architects and innovators, offering up their wealth of experience.

To honour the start of the event in style, we were proud to once again host a crowd of VIP and Industry guests at our Experience Centre for the evening with a summer themed party.

The party was full of lively conversation about the day, with our guests commenting on the great range of useful workshops that provided incredible insight into the complex world of smart engineering and technology for the Marine industry.

What better way to top off a day full of technical talk than a relaxing evening exploring some of the finest technologies the industry has to offer to our Prime Residential and Superyacht clients.

The Experience Centre is currently showcasing the theme of Interaction, giving our guests the opportunity to explore the many forms of interaction on offer in home and yacht automation. We are also featuring a first glimpse of our latest new product – watch this space.

Guests were treated to cocktails, canapés and summer tunes, delivered by some of the highest specification audio systems courtesy of CAT Audio. Of course not forgetting the CoeLux Artificial Skylight; because no summer party would be complete without the ability to bask in some Mediterranean sunshine.

We look forward to what the rest of Superyacht Design Week has to offer.

For those who missed out on the opportunity to join the festivities at our Experience Centre, please get in touch if you’d like to visit experience@ideaworks.co.uk.
