Kevin Andrews

Founder

Kevin has been the technical driving force of Ideaworks since its inception in 1985. He continues an involvement in all large projects and establishes the technical approach for the company. Working closely with the Design and Engineering Teams, he also has close relationships with technology innovators in all associated industries. This has allowed him to keep Ideaworks at the very edge of new technologies; whilst making sure that clients are not exposed to these technologies until they have been proved viable in our own R&D labs.

 

Chris Jones

Managing Director

Since joining Ideaworks from university in 1999, Chris has been involved with the design and delivery of connected technologies within high end homes around the world. Over the past decade, he has played an integral role in shaping the company as well as leading major projects.

Chris has held various positions during his career at Ideaworks which are indicative of his diverse skillset. Product Designer, Project Manager, Quality Manager, Operation Director…to name a few. He is passionate about simplifying the complicated and refining processes to better serve clients. Chris is happiest when he knows his team are happy. He remains committed to creating a positive working environment where everyone can achieve their potential.

 

Doug Wood

Design Director

Doug is the Design Director at Ideaworks responsible for the design teams and the projects they run. After joining Ideaworks in 1995 following a year’s work placement, Doug specialised in producing bespoke products and light fittings on a large number of projects. Many of these products set the standard for manufacturers to follow. Producing the industries first waterproof remote control in 1997 and designing lighting enclosures that Lutron are still following to date. These achievements enabled Doug to gain membership to the Chartered Society of Designers in 2000.

 

 

Simon Daines

Engineering Director

As the Engineering Director at Ideaworks, Simon is responsible for the various engineering teams (Rack Build, Programming, IT, Service and Installation) and the quality of all Ideaworks installations. He also ensures all of his team members are trained and up to date with the latest technologies. Since joining Ideaworks 16 years ago, Simon has worked on numerous projects ranging from a few thousand pounds to multi-millions including many overseas projects, both residential and marine.

 

 

Stewart Keir

Projects Director (Residential)

Having joined Ideaworks as a Junior Design Assistant in 2000 Stewart has progressed through the ranks of Project Support, Project Management, Systems Design and Senior Designer where he oversaw a team of Project Managers and Designers delivering projects ranging from £30k to £1.8m in value. Throughout his years with the company he has built a large network of contacts with whom he has earned trust and respect through delivering amazing outcomes for delighted clients while being involved with the detailed design, delivery and aftercare provisions of integrated systems.

 

Rex Barrett

Projects Director (Marine)

Rex has been installing integrated systems onboard yachts and in homes for 16 years, including liaising with an international mix of clients and contractors. His role at Ideaworks involves delivering high quality large residential and yacht projects throughout Europe and through these projects, as well as his previous experience, he has gained an in depth understanding of what is needed to meet the expectations of the most demanding clients.

 

David Hornby

Finance Director

David is Ideaworks’ Finance Director responsible for the finance team, provision of financial information and the management of the company’s finances. David qualified as a ACCA with KPMG in 1990. Since then he has worked in financial consultancy, private equity and industry and has a wealth of international experience having worked in the Europe, Middle East and America. In the last 15 years he has focused on working with fast growing UK businesses in numerous capacities. David started working with Ideaworks three years ago as a consultant and joined the board in 2014, as Finance Director.

Oz Andrews

Technology Director

Oz has been instrumental in the new technologies Ideaworks design and install for many years including the invention of new products such as Mesh and Muse. As Technology Director he anticipates the future technology needs of our clients. He investigates new and emerging technologies and assesses how we could hone them to improve the quality of our client’s lives. Whilst the role may sound like it is a hunt for the ‘next big thing’, what is equally important is identifying what isn’t the next big thing and as such is unworthy of our client’s budgets or time.
